Family income and expenses in addition to number of family members determine eligibility for low rates on insurance for children: CHIP (Children's Health Insurance Program), provided by the State, is administered locally by Ramon Chapa, Jr., at 354-CHIP. Most participating families will pay no more than $18 per month to insure all of their children. Benefits include doctor visits, dental, mental health, immunizations, x-rays, hearing and vision screening, emergency care, hospital stays, surgery, and special needs care.
